My curiosity for avocado toast was peaked when I noticed Anita Lau was having it for dinner almost every night. I love its simplicity, the nourishing comfort from its creamy goodness, and the ease in which it can be prepared. It’s not exactly rocket science. It just makes sense. If you need a quick fix, a simple meal, and still get your nutrition then look no further than avocado toast.
You need a few pantry items to prepare decadence on a slice of toast: ripe avocado, your favorite bread, and spices (use can use pepper flakes, lemon pepper, salt and pepper). I bought a bag of Haas avocados from the grocery store for $2 and used the Oroweat Oatnut bread and McCormick Lemon Pepper from my pantry. Preparation took 5 minutes: lightly toast the bread (I buttered mine), mash the avocados with the spice mixture, and then spread on the bread. Voilà! All done. Enjoy. 🙂
This is currently my favorite snack and since I love avocados I know it’ll be one I’ll be making often.
