June, July, and August – the summer months I’ve come to loathe however The Generous Pour Summer Wine Event at The Capital Grille is something a gal could get used to. It almost make this unbearable season worthwhile. Heck, wine makes up for anything. And when they say “generous pour,” they really mean it.
Tuesday night, I was invited to an exclusive event with Master Sommelier George Miliotes. A glass of sparkling wine (champagne) got me into the partying mood as I sampled his chosen selection of nine fine wines from varying regions. I’m not normally a red wine fan but I’m starting to notice that the more I drink them; the better I like them. The delicious selection of wines were paired up with some delectable appetizers ranging from salmon hor d’oeuvres, brushetta, pork chops, sliders, fruit and cheese platters, and delicate chocolate truffles. The truffles were accompanied by a delicious Australian dessert wine – The Portly Gentlemen.
