Yesterday was the first ever Munchathon. This “dash and devour” food fest was a combination of everything I love summed up in one event: food and running. Unfortunately, I didn’t run the 5k. I was there with my photographer friend, Albert to check out the various food trucks and spend a great sunny day at the park.
The food trucks ranged in variety – Indian food, Greek food, Italian and specialty food like cheese balls, fries, potatoes and meat balls. We also walked around and talked to the owners of the trucks. While we munched our way though lobster rolls with butter from the Lobsta Truck, Longgonisa bowls from Tapa Boy, a variety of fries from Fresh Fries, and Buffalo Balls with Mac n Cheese from Great Balls on Tires, we heard from the White Rabbit truck that Adam Richman from Man vs. Food Nation would be stopping by to make an appearance.
Besides meeting up with friends and feasting on various treats from the local food trucks, the highlight of our day was watching the Man vs. Food Nation crew work the crowd and film their show. We learned about the 7 pound burrito challenge with The White Rabbit restaurant in LA and watched as they interviewed the trucks. I won’t reveal too many details here but you can catch the show in 4 weeks on the Travel channel. Another cool perk was getting a photo with him! I watched in awe as Adam Richman carried out my own personal dream – travel and eat food. 🙂
