Orange County Restaurant Week: Feb. 26th – Mar. 3rd

22 February, 2012 By Sukhraj Beasla (Suki) 1 Comment

It happens only once a year and it’s your chance to try Orange County’s top 100 restaurants. This culinary event, now in its 4th year, begins February 26th and runs through March 3rd. Orange County Restaurant Week will shine a spotlight on all local chefs and the official website will feature a “Meet the Chef” Q&A alongside special menu offerings. The prix fixe menus are priced at $10, $15 and $20 per person for lunch, and $20, $30 or $40 per person for dinner.

“We have more than 100 talented Chefs who demonstrate so much skill, creativity and passion during Orange County Restaurant Week, and without them, this grand culinary celebration wouldn’t continue to grow in excitement every year,” commented Pamela Waitt, president of the OC Restaurant Association. “We’re showcasing these top Chefs at the county’s best restaurants, so diners can expect to be presented with a truly special event with the county’s crème de la crème offering great incentives during this one week. After all, the goal is for everyone involved to have fun!”

To kick off OC Restaurant Week, the OC Restaurant Association will be hosting a launch party this weekend at Newport Beach Lexus (sold out). This event will benefit Share Our Strength, an organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger in this country.

During the event, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy signature samples from the following Orange County Restaurant Week participants:

Avanti Café
Canyon Restaurant
Cucina Enoteca
House of Big Fish
House of Blues – Anaheim
Katsuya
K’ya Bistro
Pizzelle’s Bistro
Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen
RA Sushi Bar Restaurant
Royal Hawaiian
Scott’s Restaurant
Slaters 50/50
Starfish
Sundried Tomato
The Hot Lunch Lady
The Melting Pot

In addition, guests will be able to sip on wine from more than 15 wineries, and beers from SoCal Brewery and Stella. Melissa’s World Variety Produce will provide a fresh fruit and vegetable spread; Sadie Rose Bakery and Cabot Cheese will coordinate a bread and cheese table; and Blackmarket Bakery and Frosting’s Cupcakes will present desserts.

All participating restaurants can be found online at www.ocrestaurantweek.com.

Sukhraj Beasla (Suki)

Hi! I'm Suki and I love food, the emotions it inspires and how it brings a passionate group of people to the table to share stories. Some of my best memories come from sharing my favorite recipes, having an amazing meal at a restaurant and being in the kitchen with my Mom or Grandmother learning about a dish they just cooked so it’s only natural that I’d want to share my love for food in the form of a blog.
