I was first introduced to Wienerschnitzel as a poor college kid. Growing up in a small farm town, my fast food choices were limited so it was nice to finally be able to explore other options. My main stay were the ultimate chili cheese fries – they were the perfect late night snack, “take a break from studying” excuse, and it was also where I had my first date ever.
I drive by two Wienerschnitzel’s on a daily basis on my way to and from work. When an opportunity presented itself to try the new grilled bratwurst, I couldn’t refuse. Stepping foot inside, I was instantly hit with a wave of nostalgia – all of those great college memories came flooding back and I couldn’t help but smile.
For a limited time (until the end of October), make some of your own memories and participate in Wienerschnitzel’s “sort of German” roots by trying their new grilled bratwurst available in two different varieties – mustard and onion or mustard and kraut. I opted for mustard and kraut and added cheese and tomatoes, a side of fries, and coke for a well-balanced, somewhat (not) nutritious meal.
I took my order to go and liked that it maintained its consistency. The brats are grilled fresh in house, had the perfect snap, and before I knew it – my brat was finished and I was wishing I’d had ordered another one.
One bite and you’ll be breaking out the lederhosen, taking part in a 200 year old global celebration, and who knows what else? Raise your stein and head over to your nearest Wienerschnitzel to celebrate all the fun before time runs out. To sweeten the deal, I’m offering 3 of my readers a chance to win a combo card. The combo card is good for a free hot dog, sandwich, or burger of your choice including condiments, tomatoes, and cheese; a small soft drink; and a small order of fries. Enter below and good luck!
*Giveaway ends Tuesday, October 6th at midnight. Three winners will be drawn at random and contacted via email. Each winner will have 24 hours to respond or another winner will be drawn. This giveaway is only open to residents of Orange and Los Angeles Counties.
